SUSTAINABILITY

At Tek Neek, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and driving sustainable practices across all aspects of our operations. 

As part of our ongoing Carbon Footprint Reduction Plan, we are focusing on innovative solutions to cut emissions and enhance our energy efficiency. In late 2024, we engaged with Chamber Low Carbon to assess our current carbon footprint and from this we’ve introduced a “Green Team” to help monitor, review and implement change going into the future. We’ve also collaborated with the AMRC North West to conduct accurate energy consumption and emissions testing to track performance and ensure optimal energy efficiency.

One key initiative in our sustainability plan was the transition from hydraulic CNC machines to fully electric models. By making this shift, we have significantly reduced our energy consumption and minimize the reliance on oil-based systems, all while improving the precision and efficiency of our production processes. This upgrade not only supports our sustainability goals but also helps us contribute to a cleaner, greener future for the industry.

In addition, we have implemented a ground-breaking system to generate our own nitrogen on-site, which is used as an assist gas for our Amada fibre laser cutter. Traditionally, nitrogen is supplied by external providers, but by producing it in-house, we are cutting down on transportation emissions and reducing our overall reliance on third-party suppliers.

 This innovation ensures a more efficient and environmentally friendly operation while further advancing our commitment to sustainability. With these initiatives, we are taking meaningful steps toward a more eco-conscious future, leading the way in the manufacturing sector's transition to sustainable technologies.

GREEN ENGINEERING

We also offer expert guidance in Green Engineering to help our customers design products that are not only cost-effective but also environmentally sustainable. By working closely with clients from the early design stages, we assess a wide range of materials and coatings that can significantly enhance the lifespan of their products. Selecting the right materials, coatings, and finishes ensures better durability, resistance to wear and corrosion, and longer product life cycles, ultimately reducing the need for frequent replacements and minimizing overall environmental impact. Our team is committed to help customers make informed decisions that contribute to a more sustainable product lifecycle.

Additionally, we provide valuable insights into how material thickness and design choices can impact energy consumption throughout the manufacturing process and during transportation. By exploring the benefits of reducing material thicknesses, we can help lower energy usage, reduce emissions, and decrease transportation costs without sacrificing strength or structural integrity.
